A from-scratch rebuild of the production website for Milano Nails Spa in Flower Mound, Texas. In development since June 2026, with completion estimated for February 2027. The demo shows where it’s at.
What’s new
- Next.js 15 and Tailwind CSS v4 on the front end, replacing the old site entirely.
- Payload CMS 3 as the admin, so the salon can manage services, promotions, the gallery, and the blog themselves.
- Neon Postgres in production, with images through Payload media and an optional Cloudinary CDN.
- Booking that works with the salon’s ABC Salon POS: a Milano-branded booking page, plus a native five-step booking wizard that can be switched on from the admin.
The first version
This is the second time around. From November 2022 to March 2023, as the front-end software engineer for Milano Nails Spa / Nails of America, I designed and built a site with online bookings that boosted appointments by around 130 customers per week, and optimized it for mobile so it held up on every platform.
